Maxine Sophia Humphrey, age 84, of Lucas Valley, CA passed away on December 26, 2014 after a brief illness.
She was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, March 19, 1930 to Oscar Anderson and Alma Myhre. Her family traveled the U.S. one summer and finally settled in Sacramento where she completed her schooling. She was a secretary for Calwest Insurance until she met and married Hobart Humphrey.
Maxine was a stay at home mom for her three daughters until they were grown. She is survived by Diane Kotsaris (Brad); Kristine Humphrey Browne and Leslee Pardo (Dave) and by her two grandsons Nikolas Kotsaris and Garrett Pardo.
She worked at the Marin IJ for 20 plus years. Maxine had a great sense of humor and loved nothing more than a good joke or a funny card to celebrate her birthday. Maxine loved to read and would sometimes read several books in a week, and she had a collection to prove it. She loved her home, her garden, all animals and most of all being with her family.
A Celebration of life will be held February 7th from 2:00-4:00PM at the Lucas Valley Community Center, 1201 Idylberry Rd, San Rafael, 94903.
