Marin County Resources

In many ways the County of Marin remains the same as it was in 1579, the year the Coast Miwok Tribe greeted Sir Francis Drake and the crew of the Golden Hinde on the shores of what many believe to be Drakes Beach.

Over four hundred and twenty years later, we still enjoy the same stunning ocean vistas, varied flora, and abundant wildlife; large parts of our County are forever protected as the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, making our County one of the most beautiful in the nation.
